ClearPoint Strategy alternatives for scorecard and strategic plan teams
Facts checked October 27, 2026
ClearPoint Strategy is reporting software for a strategic plan. A city performance office, a hospital system or a utility loads its objectives, measures and initiatives, then produces the monthly scorecard and the board pack from them. The Boston company's customer quotes come from cities, counties, hospitals and utilities, and the product is built around the report at the end of the month.
That's why ClearPoint users rarely want a plain OKR tracker. The real question is which framework you run. If it's a balanced scorecard or a multi-year plan with dozens of measures, you need a tool that handles measures and reporting well. If your organization is moving from a scorecard to quarterly OKRs, the choice opens up. This page covers both cases with six alternatives, checked on October 27, 2026.
Reasons ClearPoint customers compare
You can't see a price. ClearPoint's pricing page says "No generic pricing" and offers a 30-minute call for "your exact price." For a public body that has to justify a renewal, that makes comparison hard.
The plan grows by several dials. Price depends on users (bands from 10 to 500+), support level, scorecards (from 1 to 500+), integrations, single sign-on and training. A department that adds a second scorecard may see a different quote.
The minimum is 10 users. The same page says ClearPoint is ideal for organizations with 25 or more people across several departments. A five-person planning office pays for ten.
Slack users are second class. ClearPoint's chat app, ClearBot, lives in Microsoft Teams. Slack runs through Zapier.
Some teams are leaving scorecards. Quarterly OKRs with weekly check-ins ask for a different rhythm than a monthly measure update. ClearPoint's reporting is built around that monthly scorecard cycle.
Where ClearPoint earns its price
It's good at the report. You can export any page to PDF, grid reports to Excel and dashboards to PowerPoint, build Briefing Books for a council or board, and publish HTML reports, per its export guide. The Data Loader pulls measures in from Excel, CSV or SQL on every plan, with feature differences by plan. Onboarding and training are part of every plan, the company holds a SOC 2 Type II report, and it says it moves your goals, initiatives and metrics in during the first 30 days. There's also an API and an MCP connection.

The six ClearPoint alternatives
Cascade
Cascade is the nearest thing to ClearPoint's model of a strategic plan. Plans contain objectives, and each objective carries the projects and measures that deliver it, which mirrors how a scorecard links initiatives to measures. The difference is in how you buy. Cascade's pricing page lists a Plan tier for 2 users at no cost, so you can build the plan before talking to anyone. Essentials and Enterprise need a quote.
For a public body, check the support terms first: a dedicated customer success manager is on Enterprise only. Bulk loading uses Cascade's own XLSX template, and you'll rebuild any shared or nested objectives by hand afterwards. Our Cascade alternatives page has the reverse comparison.
Profit.co
If you don't want to give up the scorecard, Profit.co is the one to call. Its Strategy module covers OKRs, a Strategy Roadmap, a Balanced Scorecard and Hoshin Kanri in one place, so a team can run a scorecard at the top and OKRs below it. Pricing is a quote built from the modules you pick and your user count, with a free 30-day trial first.
Like ClearPoint, it bundles people with the software. Every plan comes with a dedicated customer success manager, guided onboarding, SSO and over 300 prebuilt KPI templates. Its compliance list names SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, GDPR and HIPAA, which may matter for a hospital. Enterprise adds data residency, audit logs and a 99.9% SLA. See our Profit.co alternatives.
WorkBoard
WorkBoard fits a ClearPoint customer at the large end: many business units, quarterly business reviews and a need to pull metrics from other systems. Its developer page lists connectors for Power BI, Salesforce, Azure DevOps, monday.com and Jira as metric sources, and native integrations with Teams, Slack and Outlook. Scorecards export to CSV, PDF or PowerPoint, which covers the board-pack habit.
You'll be quoting again, though. The pricing page is a demo request. WorkBoard now also owns Quantive, after a 2025 acquisition. Before signing, read our WorkBoard alternatives.
Workpath
Workpath is built for the measure-heavy side of strategy. Its KPI module builds driver trees from your existing sources, with Power BI and Excel Online among the included integrations, and its business review tooling sits next to goals. Customers in Europe may prefer its credentials: ISO 27001, TISAX, GDPR, and hosting in Germany.
Expect a ClearPoint-style buying process. Price depends on licenses, modules and contract length, with a minimum term of one year. After a demo you can test it for 14 days or run a 3 to 4 month proof of value, and consultants support onboarding and quarterly reviews. Slack isn't native; Microsoft Teams is, with chat and voice agents. More in our Workpath alternatives.
Perdoo
Perdoo is the option for a planning team that is switching from a scorecard to OKRs and wants to start small. It tracks OKRs and KPIs side by side and draws a strategy map above them, and its Free plan covers up to 5 users. Paid plans start at €8.00 per user per month for Premium and €10.00 for Supreme under 25 users, so a 10-person office never hits ClearPoint's floor.
The trade-off is reporting depth. Perdoo exports goals to CSV, PDF or PPT, which is enough for a team meeting but not a Briefing Book. Export Data needs Premium or Supreme. See our Perdoo alternatives.
OKIAR
OKIAR is a focused OKR platform with five operating views and leadership insights, for teams that want execution without a heavyweight scorecard stack. The beta costs nothing and has no caps on objectives, key results, KPIs or team members. Okiar is already live today, and fiscal-quarter labels let each team use the quarter names it already knows.
Migration help is available if you want it. Export your scorecard to Excel, then use goal import, which reads files up to 5 MB, multi-sheet workbooks included, and helps map people, teams and parent links for you to review. A PDF Briefing Book or a Word document can be read too. Updates can come through Slack or Telegram; there's no Teams app, which matters if you rely on ClearBot today.
When to keep ClearPoint
Keep it if your output is a published report. Councils, boards and regulators that expect a monthly Briefing Book or an HTML performance report are ClearPoint's home ground, and none of the lighter tools here produce the same thing. Keep it too if your data comes from SQL or a stack of spreadsheets every month: the Data Loader handles that on every plan. If your pain is the price or the 10-user minimum rather than the product, ask for a quote with fewer scorecards or a lighter support level first.
What you can take out of ClearPoint
Use the export guide before your contract ends. Grid reports export to Excel, which is the most useful format for any import. Any page can go to PDF, dashboards to PowerPoint, and Briefing Books keep a formatted copy for your records. Export measure series as well as objectives if you want trend history. Our ClearPoint migration guide shows how to check an export file before you rebuild.

Frequently asked questions
What does ClearPoint Strategy cost?
ClearPoint doesn't publish a price. Plans start at 10 users and are priced on a 30-minute call based on users, scorecards, support, integrations and training.
Which alternative supports a balanced scorecard?
Profit.co lists a Balanced Scorecard in its Strategy module next to OKRs and Hoshin Kanri. Cascade and Workpath handle measures and KPIs well but present them as strategic plans or driver trees.
Is there a free alternative to ClearPoint?
Yes, for small teams. OKIAR is free during its beta, Perdoo is free for up to 5 users, and Cascade's Plan tier includes 2 users. None of them produce Briefing Books.
Does ClearPoint work with Slack?
Only through Zapier. Its native chat app, ClearBot, runs in Microsoft Teams. Profit.co, WorkBoard, Perdoo and OKIAR connect to Slack directly.
Can I move ClearPoint data into OKIAR?
Yes, on your own. Export grid reports to Excel and upload the file through goal import. OKIAR helps map people, teams and parent links for you to review but doesn't promise to rebuild scorecard reports or charts.
