Cascade alternatives: 6 strategy execution tools compared

Facts checked October 27, 2026

Cascade calls itself a strategy-led performance platform. It's built for leadership teams that want their strategy, metrics, projects and risks in one model, with AI on top that writes executive summaries and pulls updates from meetings and email. It is also the only Balanced Scorecard platform the Balanced Scorecard Institute endorses, according to Cascade's site.

The people who leave it tend to fall into two groups. Some want a different strategy platform, for example because the plan they need is quote-only or because of how it connects to their tools. Others realize they only needed OKRs and a weekly rhythm, not a strategy operating model. This page covers six options for both groups. Facts were checked on October 27, 2026.

Why teams look for Cascade alternatives

  • The free plan is for 2 users. Cascade's pricing gives 2 users on the free Plan tier, then jumps to Essentials (up to 25 users) and Enterprise (up to 100 users), both priced on request. There's nothing published in between.
  • Limits on the middle tier. Essentials caps you at 50 advanced metrics and 15 advanced reports, and Tapestry AI, data residency and fully custom strategy models sit on Enterprise.
  • Support depends on the plan. The pricing FAQ says only Enterprise includes a dedicated customer success manager; other plans get live chat and email.
  • Slack is indirect. Microsoft Teams is listed as an integration, but the Slack connection runs through Zapier.
  • Too much model for some teams. Strategy models, time horizons and portfolio views are powerful, but a 30-person team that only sets quarterly OKRs uses a fraction of them.

What Cascade does well

Cascade treats strategy as a structure, not a slide. You can use standard frameworks and OKRs on Essentials, or build a custom strategy model on Enterprise, then tie metrics, projects and risks to it. Viewers are unlimited on paid plans, so a whole company can follow along while only a few people edit. Tapestry AI drafts plans from static files, runs report-driven meetings and collects updates from meetings, emails and Teams. Its use cases go beyond OKRs: balanced scorecards, portfolio management, transformation programs and compliance reporting. If your executive team wants one living strategy model, Cascade is a strong choice, and you can create a free account with no credit card.

Where Cascade falls short

Most of the interesting parts need a quote. The free plan is mainly for trying the planner, the bulk importer's own help article notes that it can't create shared or nested objectives, and reporting exports come out as CSV per widget, with only the columns you included. Below Enterprise, onboarding is self-serve, with in-product guides and email instructions, which is thin help when you are setting up a strategy model for the first time.

The six Cascade alternatives

WorkBoard

WorkBoard is the closest peer to Cascade at the enterprise end. It bought Quantive in 2025, and its developer page lists native Teams, Slack, Outlook and Google Calendar integrations, a REST API, and Excel, Sheets and CSV connectors for metrics. There's also a Copilot agent for Teams. Like Cascade's paid tiers, the pricing is a demo request.

Moving from Cascade: Export each Cascade report table you need to CSV, then take them to WorkBoard's onboarding team. If Slack matters, WorkBoard's native app is a real upgrade over a Zapier link. See our WorkBoard alternatives.

Workpath

Workpath, based in Munich, is a good fit for a Cascade customer in Europe that runs on Microsoft. Workpath's pricing sells KPI, goal, initiative and resource modules on request, with a one-year minimum contract and a 14-day test after a demo. It integrates with Teams, Power BI, Excel Online, Jira, Azure DevOps and Planner, is hosted in Germany, and holds ISO 27001 and TISAX. Setup takes 2 to 4 weeks. Slack, Asana and Confluence connect through the Workpath API.

Moving from Cascade: Workpath's account managers and consultants help with onboarding, so share your exported strategy tables early in the proof of value. See our Workpath alternatives.

ClearPoint Strategy

ClearPoint suits a Cascade customer who used it mainly for scorecards and board reports. Its pricing page has no price; you get one on a 30-minute call, and plans start at 10 users. Training and onboarding are included, and ClearPoint holds SOC 2 Type II. Teams works through ClearBot, and Slack, like Cascade's, goes through Zapier.

Moving from Cascade: This is the most hands-off move here. ClearPoint's pricing page says it moves your existing goals, initiatives and metrics into ClearPoint within 30 days, and its data loader takes Excel, CSV and SQL. See our ClearPoint Strategy alternatives.

Profit.co

Profit.co covers strategy and OKRs plus performance, projects and engagement modules, which suits a Cascade customer whose HR team wants goals tied to reviews. Its pricing page doesn't publish per-user prices; plans are priced by modules and user count. There's a 30-day trial, more than 100 integrations, and a dedicated success manager and guided onboarding on every plan, which below Enterprise Cascade doesn't offer.

Moving from Cascade: Hand the CSV exports to your Profit.co success manager during onboarding. We found no self-serve Cascade importer. See our Profit.co alternatives.

Perdoo

Perdoo is the option with a strategy map and a published price. Its pricing page offers a free plan for up to 5 users, then €8.00 to €6.40 (Premium) or €10.00 to €8.00 (Supreme) per user per month, falling as you add licenses up to 100; quarterly terms cost 10% more. KPIs, OKRs and strategy sit together, and Slack and Teams come with every plan. It's lighter than Cascade's strategy model, and that's the point.

Moving from Cascade: Reshape your Cascade CSV into Perdoo's import template, which takes files under 5 MB and 10,000 rows, or paste goals as text for its AI to parse. Update history doesn't carry over. See our Perdoo alternatives.

OKIAR

OKIAR is for the group that discovers it wanted OKRs, not a strategy model. It has no scorecards, portfolio views or risk registers. What it does is goals, key results and a weekly check-in by voice or text, with OKIAR writing the summary. The beta is free with no credit card and no cap on members, and your Okiar is already live today when the beta ends. Periods can follow your own planning calendar, not only quarters.

It runs in Slack and Telegram; there's no Microsoft Teams app. Through MCP, AI tools like Claude or Codex can read goals, create objectives, key results and KPIs, and update key result values.

Moving from Cascade: You do it yourself. Export your Cascade objectives to CSV, or save a report as PDF, and upload the file at sign-up or later. OKIAR reads files up to 5 MB, including multi-sheet Excel, CSV, PDF, Word, text and Markdown, helps map people, teams and parent links for you to review, and lets you edit the draft before anything goes live. Extra owners per objective are optional.

What you can take out of Cascade

Cascade exports from Reports. You can export widgets and the strategy table to CSV, and each file contains only the columns you added to that view. Before you export, add the columns you'll need in the next tool: owner, parent objective, measure type, start and target values, current value and dates. Run one export per plan or time horizon. Metric history and Tapestry AI summaries aren't part of a table export, so copy anything you want to keep. If you are on Enterprise, ask your success manager what else they can pull. Our Cascade migration guide has a checklist for testing an exported file.
