7Geese alternatives: 7 goal and performance tools you can buy on their own
Facts checked October 27, 2026
7Geese started as a goals and continuous performance tool. Paycor bought it in 2020 and said it would be fully integrated into Paycor's product portfolio. That is what happened: 7geese.com now lands on a Paycor page headed "7Geese is Now Paycor Talent Development". Then Paychex bought Paycor, and that deal closed on April 14, 2025. So the goal tool you signed up for now sits two acquisitions deep inside a payroll company.
Most teams who searched for 7Geese wanted two things in one place: goals and the reviews that use them. This page keeps that lens. It compares six alternatives that pair goals with performance work, plus OKIAR for teams that only want the goals half. All facts were checked on October 27, 2026.
Why teams look for 7Geese alternatives
The product still works for existing customers. Paycor's page says they can keep using it, support still answers at support@7geese.com, and the old Knowledge Base stays online. The reasons to leave are mostly about what it has become.
- You can't find a price for it. Paycor's plans page sells HR and payroll bundles and asks you to answer a few questions before it quotes. Nothing on it prices Talent Development, or 7Geese, as a product you can buy by itself.
- Your renewal is now a Paycor conversation. If you don't run payroll on Paycor, you'll be talking to a payroll vendor about a goals tool. Teams that never planned to change HR systems tend to start looking around at that point.
- The extra platform is a US offer. Paycor's 7Geese page says customers based in the United States can also use Paycor's full HR platform. It says nothing about what customers elsewhere get.
- It plugs into calendars, not chat. The Talent Development FAQ lists Outlook and Google Calendar as its primary integrations. We found no Slack or Microsoft Teams app there.
- Alignment sits on the higher tier. The same FAQ puts cascading SMART or OKR goals and the alignment tree in Talent Development Pro.
What 7Geese still does well
Credit where it's due. Talent Development keeps goals, 1:1s, 360 feedback, recognition and reviews in one product, and Paycor says reviews draw on the history from 1:1s, feedback and goals. A 9-box grid helps managers rate performance against potential. The base product sets SMART goals; Pro adds OKRs that cascade across the company and an alignment tree that shows how each person's goals roll up. If your payroll already runs on Paycor, all of that comes with one vendor, one contract and no export project. For a Paycor payroll customer, that is a real reason to stay.
Where it falls short for teams that leave
The limits show up when you're not a Paycor customer, or don't want to become one. With no standalone price, you can't budget for goals separately from HR software. We found no public guide to exporting goals, and the old developer docs at app.7geese.com now return an error, so a clean exit takes a support ticket. And with no chat integration listed, weekly progress updates live inside the app or in calendar reminders instead of in the tools your team already has open all day.

The seven 7Geese alternatives
Lattice
Lattice is the closest match to what 7Geese used to be: one vendor for reviews, goals, 1:1s and feedback, sold module by module. Lattice's pricing page lists Goals & OKRs at $8 per seat per month and Performance at $10, and says either can be bought on its own. 1:1s, weekly updates and feedback come with any base product. The catch for small teams is the $4,000 minimum annual agreement, and every contract is billed annually in US dollars. It connects to Slack, Teams and Jira.
Moving from 7Geese: Ask 7Geese support for your goals as a spreadsheet, then copy them into Lattice's template. Its bulk upload takes up to 500 goals per file, with key results as separate rows and one owner each. It doesn't carry parent links, so an admin rebuilds your 7Geese alignment tree by hand afterwards. Our
Lattice alternatives page covers its other limits.
15Five
15Five comes at performance from the manager's side: weekly check-ins, 1:1 agendas, recognition and reviews. OKRs are part of the Perform plan, which 15Five's pricing page lists at $11 per user per month, billed annually. Total Platform adds engagement surveys and manager training for $16. Notifications reach Slack, and there's a 15Five app for Microsoft Teams.
Moving from 7Geese: 15Five fits if your managers valued 7Geese's check-ins as much as its goals. An Account Admin can bulk import objectives and key results from 15Five's CSV template, with each key result on the row below its objective, then preview and publish. We couldn't confirm whether parent alignment comes in, so check your tree afterwards. On the way out later, 15Five can download objectives as CSV or XLSX with parent objective titles. See also our
15Five alternatives.
Leapsome
Leapsome, with offices in Berlin and New York, prices every module per employee. Leapsome's pricing page lists Goals & OKRs at €4 and Performance Reviews at €7 per employee per month. Every module needs the HR platform underneath: its Foundation tier is listed at €7 but included at €0 for purchases made by December 31. Goals comes with a goal tree, update reminders and a Jira integration, and it has Slack and Teams integrations.
Moving from 7Geese: A sandbox comes after a consultation, and Leapsome says there's no setup fee. Admins can import goals from Excel using Leapsome's template, which has a parent goal column for business goals. Parents must already exist, so upload top-level goals first and child goals second. Each goal takes up to 12 key results. More in our
Leapsome alternatives.
Betterworks
Betterworks is built for large companies that run formal review cycles with calibration. Its plans page lists Performance at $8 and Performance + Talent Intelligence at $9 per user per month, with implementation as a one-time fee on top, and says it adds most value above 500 employees. There's a Slack app for paid users and a Teams integration.
Moving from 7Geese: Betterworks' goal mass upload takes a CSV template that a Super Admin fills in. Alignment can't be set in the upload, so parents get linked afterwards, ideally during the paid implementation. Our
Betterworks alternatives page covers the reasons teams leave it.
Teamflect
Teamflect suits a 7Geese customer whose company runs on Microsoft 365. Goals, reviews, feedback and surveys all live inside Teams and Outlook. Teamflect's pricing is free for up to 10 users, then $7 per user per month on Essential or $11 on Professional with annual billing ($9 and $14 monthly). Once you pass 10 users, every user is billed. There's no Slack integration.
Moving from 7Geese: Admins can bulk upload goals from Excel using Teamflect's template, which has a parent goal reference column, so your 7Geese hierarchy can come across if you map it. Its pricing page also lists free implementation support, training and an assigned success manager. See our
Teamflect alternatives.
Perdoo
Perdoo is the pick if you mostly used 7Geese for OKRs and the review side never caught on. Perdoo's pricing page is free for up to 5 users. After that, Premium costs €8.00 per user per month below 25 users and falls to €6.40 at 100, and Supreme falls from €10.00 to €8.00. Quarterly terms cost 10% more, and above 100 users Perdoo asks you to talk to sales. Performance reviews are a Supreme feature, and Slack and Teams come with every plan.
Moving from 7Geese: Perdoo has importers for some tools, but 7Geese isn't one of them. Copy your goals into its CSV template (under 5 MB and 10,000 rows) or paste them as text for its AI to parse. Only the current state of each goal comes across. More in our Perdoo alternatives.
OKIAR
OKIAR covers only the goals half of 7Geese. There are no performance reviews, so it fits teams that want OKRs out of their HR system, not a new HR system. OKIAR's beta is free with no credit card, no cap on team members, and no set end date; beta Okiar is already live today. You can run quarters, years or your own fiscal-quarter labels, and people check in each week by voice or text. OKIAR then writes a summary of what slipped.
Updates reach Slack channels and direct messages, and Telegram works too. Through MCP, Claude or Codex can read goals, create objectives, key results and KPIs, and update key result values. There is no Microsoft Teams app.
Moving from 7Geese: OKIAR's team won't run the move for you. What it has is goal import: at sign-up or later, upload the file 7Geese support sends you, up to 5 MB, as a spreadsheet (multi-sheet Excel works), CSV, PDF, Word, text or Markdown. It helps map people, teams and parent links for you to review, so your alignment tree survives, and you review the draft before anything is created. Extra owners per objective are optional.
What you can take out of 7Geese
We couldn't find a published export guide for 7Geese or Talent Development. Email support@7geese.com, or your Paycor account contact, and ask for one file with every objective, key result, owner, team and parent link, plus check-in history if you want to keep it. Ask before your renewal date, not after. Paycor's 7Geese page says the Knowledge Base is still open, so search it for any self-serve export first. Our 7Geese migration guide walks through checking an exported file for missing owners and broken links before you import it anywhere.

Frequently asked questions
Is 7Geese still available?
Yes, as Paycor Talent Development. Paycor's 7Geese page says existing customers keep the tools and the support team. New buyers will find it inside Paycor's HR platform, which Paychex now owns.
How much does 7Geese cost now?
We found no public price. Paycor's plans page quotes HR and payroll bundles after a short questionnaire and doesn't list Talent Development by itself.
Can I buy 7Geese without Paycor payroll?
We couldn't confirm it either way. No standalone plan is listed, so ask Paycor sales before you plan a renewal.
Which alternative is closest to 7Geese?
Lattice, because it pairs goals with reviews, 1:1s and feedback and lets you buy Goals & OKRs alone. 15Five and Leapsome are close too. Betterworks fits companies above 500 people.
Is there a free alternative to 7Geese?
OKIAR is free during its beta, Teamflect is free up to 10 users and Perdoo up to 5. None of the HR suites on this page has a free plan.
Will my 7Geese alignment tree survive the move?
It depends on the tool. Lattice and Betterworks uploads drop parent links, so you rebuild them by hand. Leapsome's Excel import links business goals to parents you've already uploaded, and Teamflect's template has a parent goal ID column. OKIAR's goal import keeps parent links, owners and teams from one file.
