Profit.co migration: what you can export, and how to rebuild your OKRs in OKIAR
Facts checked October 27, 2026
Profit.co is still running, so nobody is forcing you out. You leave on your own schedule, and the only hard deadline is the one you set by cancelling. That's also the risk: Profit.co's help center says deleting the account deletes all your data, and "once deleted your data cannot be restored." Export first.
This guide shows what Profit.co lets you export, what each file holds, and how to rebuild the current quarter somewhere else. Steps 1 and 2 are worth doing whatever you pick next; Steps 3 to 5 are the rebuild in OKIAR.
Before you start: what to do while your account is live
Profit.co has no shutdown date, so the clock is your contract. Do three things before anyone cancels:
- Ask a Profit.co super user to run every export in Step 1. According to Profit.co, only super users can create or delete accounts, and only super users can open Settings.
- Pull anything you want through the API while you still pay. Profit.co's API access page says API keys and access keys need a current subscription to a paid plan.
- Agree inside your company who deletes the account, and when. Deletion is permanent, so it should come last.
Step 1: Work out which Profit.co export you have
Profit.co has more export options than most OKR tools. Most of them are reports, though, and only one is a full OKR data file.
| Export | Who can run it | Format | What it holds | How it arrives | Best use now |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Export all OKRs | Not stated in the help article | CSV | Your company's OKRs or all OKRs, with the view or fields you pick; weightage and ranking if enabled | Processed, then downloaded; tracked in Export History | The file to import |
| OKR Progress Presentation | Users, once a super user turns it on | Slide deck | OKR scores, progress and chosen check-in comments, for one department and one or more periods | Downloaded per department | A record of check-in comments |
| OKR reports as PDF | Not stated | Saved Views, the OKR List View or the Cockpit | Downloaded | A visual record | |
| Department reflection PDF | Users with reset or reflect access | OKR hierarchy with owner, progress and status, next-quarter OKRs and reflection answers | Downloads straight away | An archive of each reflection cycle | |
| Check-in discipline widgets | Not stated | CSV or PDF | Who checked in, by week, department and employee | CSV downloads; PDFs wait in Export History | Proof of check-in habits |
| Tasks | Not stated | CSV or XLS | All tasks, or a workspace's tasks | Downloaded | Your task archive |
| REST API | Admins on a paid plan | API responses | What the API covers | Pulled by a developer | A full archive, if you have a developer |
Export all OKRs (CSV)
Profit.co's export article says you open OKRs, click the More (⋯) menu and choose Export. You then pick your company's OKRs or All OKRs, and the view or fields you want. A pop-up confirms the request, and you download the file when it's ready. "All OKRs are exported in CSV format."
Pick every field you can. If you turned on OKR weightage or ranking, both appear in the file. OKIAR supports key result weights, so include the weightage. The same article notes that key result status now sits in one column, which combines lifecycle stage and health status.
Reports, slides and PDFs
The OKR Progress Presentation builds a slide deck for one department. A super user has to switch it on under Settings, OKRs, Views. Choose the "OKR List with Check-in Charts" style if you want check-in comments in the slides, and pick the deepest hierarchy: objectives, key results and child objectives. You can select more than one period.
Profit.co's October 2025 update added PDF export of OKR reports from Saved Views, the OKR List View and the Cockpit. Its August 27, 2026 update added a department reflection PDF, which lists the OKR hierarchy with name, owner, progress and status for each item. None of these is a data file, but the reflection PDF is a good check on how your goals were linked.
Tasks and reviews
Profit.co's backup article says tasks export to CSV or XLS from the Tasks menu. If you used Profit.co for performance reviews, export those from Performance, then HR Administration.
The API
Profit.co has a REST API, and its public reference lives at profit.dev. Keys sit under Settings, Security, API Access. An organization can keep up to five active access keys, each with its own scope, and a "Read only" key can't change data. Ask for one of those for the export. We couldn't read the endpoint list from outside, so we can't tell you whether the API returns check-in history. Ask your developer to check before the subscription ends.
If you have no file
Fall back on the presentation deck, the department reflection PDF and your last quarterly review. To start over instead, OKIAR's OKR examples offer templates for 16 teams.
Step 2: Check what your file contains
Profit.co doesn't publish the columns in its CSV, and the file changes with the view and fields you pick. Here's what its help pages do say:
- Weightage and ranking columns appear only if you turned them on.
- Key result status is one column, holding both the lifecycle stage and the health status.
- The Objective table view has a "Latest Check-in Comment" column, added in October 2025.
Before you plan the move, check four things:
- Count the objectives and key results in the file, and compare the total with what Profit.co shows for the same period.
- Find the column that links each key result to its objective, and each child objective to its parent. If you can't find one, use the reflection PDF or the deck to rebuild the links.
- Look for owners who have left the company.
- Look for check-in notes and comments. The help articles don't say the CSV holds check-in history, so assume it doesn't until you see it.
Moving to a tool other than OKIAR
Try a sample import of your Profit.co CSV with each vendor before any contract. On October 27, 2026:
Tability's AI importer takes XLSX or CSV of any shape up to 10 MB, but users and teams must be added separately.Perdoo's goal import asks for its own CSV template or pasted text, at most 5 MB and 10,000 rows, and skips check-in history.
Atlassian Goals has no bulk goal upload at all.
For seven tools compared, imports included, see the Profit.co alternatives page.
Step 3: Rebuild your current quarter in OKIAR
OKIAR's goal import can read the Profit.co CSV. The sign-up guide allows files up to 5 MB, in spreadsheet, CSV, PDF, Word, text or Markdown form. Owners, teams, parent links and key result weights all carry over. Import at sign-up or later, then edit the draft's objectives, key results, start values and targets before you accept it.
Only the current period gets rebuilt. Earlier periods stay in your Profit.co files.
- Sign up on the free beta, which needs no card and has no member limit.
- Upload this period's CSV, filtering the export to one period if it's over 5 MB. Look at each proposed objective and key result before accepting.
- Map the imported teams to your Profit.co departments, then invite people as Admin, Manager, Contributor or Viewer.
- Rebuild the company and team nesting from Profit.co, using the reflection PDF if the CSV has no parent column.
- Check each key result's start, current value, target, unit and weight.
- Turn metrics you always track, such as revenue or churn, into KPIs.
- Connect Slack.
- Compare objective, team and person views with your deck or PDFs and correct owners or links that differ.
Where each Profit.co field goes in OKIAR
| In your Profit.co file | In OKIAR | Check before you start |
|---|---|---|
| Period | Quarter, year or fiscal-quarter label | Period start and end dates |
| Objective name and description | Objective title and description | Which level each objective sits at |
| Child objectives, Align To and Align From | Nested objectives or a parent link | Every child points to an objective that exists |
| Key results and sub key results | Key results with start, current and target values, unit and direction | Sub key results you'd rather turn into a nested objective |
| Owner | An owner; co-owners optional | Owners who are gone |
| Department | Teams | Department names match today's org chart |
| Weightage | Key result weights, which carry over from your file | Weights match the Profit.co file |
| Ranking | Keep in your archive | Rankings you still use in reviews |
| Key result status | Worked out from pacing; see the table below | Items you closed or dropped |
| Progress and score | Recalculated from the current value | Keep old scores in your archive |
| KPIs | KPIs, not tied to one quarter | Metrics that never end |
| Latest check-in comment | Keep in your archive | Copy any blocker still open into the first check-in |
| Tasks file | Archive, or a separate list | Tasks still open this quarter |
All 13 fields shown.
Statuses in OKIAR
Profit.co statuses can stay behind. OKIAR calculates status from pacing; the objective guide explains this as progress so far compared with the progress you'd expect by now in the period. Overrides are allowed.
| OKIAR shows | When |
|---|---|
| On track | The pacing ratio is 0.7 or more |
| Behind | It's between 0.4 and 0.69 |
| At risk | It's below 0.4 |
| Not started, Closed, Abandoned | Someone sets it |
With each check-in an owner can give a confidence score from 0 to 10.
Step 4: Replace your Profit.co integrations
Profit.co's integrations page lists more than 100 native integrations, including Jira, Slack, Google Workspace, Microsoft Teams, Salesforce and Zapier, so that key result progress updates automatically. None of those connections comes with your file.
| In Profit.co | In OKIAR today |
|---|---|
| Integrations that updated key results | Owners update numbers in check-ins |
| Microsoft Teams | No Teams app; Slack or Telegram |
| Slack | Slack |
| Cockpit dashboards | Dashboards and Insights |
| REST API and Zapier | MCP for AI assistants, limited to your access |
Owners now type progress in. Using OKIAR's MCP and its 14 tools, an assistant such as Claude can create objectives, key results and KPIs, update a current value or file a check-in for them. Say so before the first check-in.
Step 5: Run the first check-in
Schedule a check-in for your first week.
Pick a check-in day and template for every team. Owners then report progress, confidence and blockers, typed or spoken, and the team reads the weekly summary when it next meets. After a few weeks Insights shows pacing, confidence and recurring blockers, which feed the mid-quarter review.
Our weekly check-in template has five reusable prompts.

Frequently asked questions
Can I export all my Profit.co OKRs at once?
Yes. Profit.co's help center says you can export your company's OKRs or all OKRs into a single CSV file, from OKRs, the More menu, then Export. Pick every field the export offers.
Does the Profit.co export include check-in history?
Profit.co doesn't say it does. The OKR Progress Presentation can include chosen check-in comments, and the table view shows the latest one. For full history, ask a developer to check the API before your subscription ends.
What happens to our data if we delete the Profit.co account?
Profit.co says deleting the account deletes all your data and information from its database, and it can't be restored. Only super users can delete an account, so run every export first.
Can we still use the Profit.co API after we cancel?
Profit.co says API keys and access keys need a current subscription to a paid plan. Plan any API pull for before the subscription ends.
Can OKIAR import my Profit.co CSV?
Yes. The CSV imports at sign-up or later if it's 5 MB or under, and owners, teams, parent links and key result weights come with it. Check each objective and key result in the draft before accepting.
What does OKIAR cost?
OKIAR is free in beta, with no card and no limits on objectives, key results, KPIs or members. There's no end date yet, and beta Okiar is already live today. The future Pro plan is priced "TBD/seat/month".
