OKRs Tool migration: find the export that works for your account

Facts checked October 27, 2026

OKRs Tool charges one flat monthly fee per organisation, so teams rarely leave it over price. When they do leave, the first problem is that its own pages describe the export three different ways. This guide sets those descriptions side by side, suggests an order to try them in, and keeps the rest short, because nobody has published the export's column layout.

Steps 1 and 2 hold for any destination. Steps 3 to 5 are about OKIAR.

Before you start: OKRs Tool's three export stories

On October 27, 2026 we found these, all on OKRs Tool's own sites:

  • A self-serve CSV. The newer knowledge base says, under data export and deletion: "Go to Settings → Import & Export. Click Export data to download your OKRs, Key Results, check-in history, and KPIs as a CSV file."
  • Excel today, CSV later. The FAQ says "Excel export is available today," covering objectives, key results, owners, current and target values and check-in history, and lists CSV, JSON and REST API pulls as "on the roadmap." The trust page mentions a personal JSON export, an org-level Excel export, an audit log CSV and a REST API.
  • Ask us. An older help center article, last updated about eight months ago, says self-serve exports "aren't available yet" and offers to send your data as CSV or a spreadsheet within 24 hours of a message.

The pricing page lists "Import & export OKRs" and REST API access on every paid plan, with 1,000 API calls a day on Scale. The newest pages describe a self-serve export. Check your own Settings screen before relying on any of them.

Step 1: Try the exports in this order

Open the export once and write down the column headers before you plan anything else. We couldn't find them published.

Export finder

Which OKRs Tool export can you still get?

A few yes-or-no questions, based on the help articles cited above.

Question 1

Is your OKRs Tool subscription still active?

If the subscription has ended

Deleting an organisation "permanently deletes all OKRs, KPIs, reviews, and member data," per the same knowledge base page, and it can't be undone. If nobody deleted it, email support and ask whether your data still exists. Export before anyone cancels or deletes.

Step 2: Check the file against the import template

Before you plan the move, compare your export with OKRs Tool's own import template. It shows what the product stores:

  1. Objective and Key Result columns: one row per key result, with the objective repeated.
  2. Type: organisation, department, team or individual.
  3. Metric type: number, percentage, currency or milestone, with start and target values.
  4. Owner email for each key result. Flag anyone who has left.

Two things the template leaves out: the parent link between OKRs (set with Connect OKR in the app) and the progress direction. If your export lacks parent links, note them from the Alignment map before you leave.

File check

Is your export ready to import?

Tick the four checks as you do them and enter your file size.

Enter your file size to check it against the upload limit.

  • Still to do: I wrote down the export’s column headers
  • Still to do: Objective types and metric types are filled in
  • Still to do: Owners who have left the company are flagged
  • Still to do: Parent links and progress direction are noted from the app

Leaving for a different tool

Our OKRs Tool alternatives page compares the usual next steps. Teamflect's Excel bulk upload takes a parent goal ID, and the Teamflect migration guide covers that route.

Step 3: Set up the same OKRs in OKIAR

OKIAR's import, explained in the sign-up guide, accepts spreadsheets, CSV as well as PDF, Word, text and Markdown, up to 5 MB per file. So the CSV, the Excel workbook or support's emailed file all work. Import carries owners, teams and parent links into a draft you edit and then accept.

  1. Open a free account; no card. The beta plan doesn't limit members.
  2. Upload the export for the cycle you're running now.
  3. Edit the draft until each objective and key result reads the way your team wrote it.
  4. Check teams against your OKRs Tool departments and teams, then invite people as Admin, Manager, Contributor or Viewer.
  5. Add parent links the file didn't carry, using your Alignment map notes.
  6. Set each key result's direction. "Lower is better" results, like churn or bug count, need it set on purpose.
  7. Copy your KPIs across, since OKIAR tracks KPIs too.
  8. Connect Slack, then compare the plan with OKRs Tool one last time.

OKIAR statuses

In OKRs Tool the owner picks a status at each check-in. OKIAR calculates it from pacing, the share of expected progress actually reached, as its objective page describes, and lets you override it.

At riskPacing under 0.4

Step 4: Integrations that won't come with you

Every paid OKRs Tool plan includes Slack, Microsoft Teams, Jira, Linear, Asana, ClickUp and Notion. Its Jira integration links issues to initiatives and syncs status daily. OKIAR has no Jira integration and no Teams app. It connects to Slack and Telegram, and AI assistants can reach it through MCP, which can create objectives, key results and KPIs, update current values and log check-ins.

Step 5: Keep the weekly habit

OKRs Tool sends weekly nudges. Set the same rhythm in OKIAR:

  • Choose a check-in day and template per team.
  • Owners log progress, a confidence score from 0 to 10, and blockers, by voice or text.
  • Use the weekly summary in your team meeting.
  • Look at Insights once a few weeks of data exist.

The weekly check-in template has five prompts to borrow.

Frequently asked questions

Can I export my OKRs from OKRs Tool?

Its knowledge base says yes, from Settings → Import & Export, as a CSV with check-in history and KPIs. Its FAQ says Excel. If neither appears, an older help article says support will send the data within 24 hours.

Which columns are in the export?

We couldn't find them documented. Open your export and check, using the import template as a guide.

Is my Jira link kept?

No. OKIAR has no Jira integration. Keep issue keys in the key result description if you want them.

Will OKIAR migrate us?

Migration help is available if you want it; you can also upload and review the file yourself.

What does OKIAR cost?

Free during the beta, without a card and without caps on objectives, key results, KPIs or team members. The beta has no end date yet, and Okiar is already live today. The Pro plan is listed at "TBD/seat/month".
