Teamflect migration: how to export your goals and rebuild your OKRs somewhere else

Facts checked October 27, 2026

Teamflect gives you two ways to export goals: an Export button in the Goals module, and the reports in the Admin Center. Which one you can use depends on your role, an admin setting and your plan. One thing to know up front: Teamflect's site says it "runs inside Microsoft Teams and Outlook", and OKIAR has no Microsoft Teams app, so leaving also means changing where people check in.

This guide covers what Teamflect lets you export, who can run each export, what to check in the file, and how to rebuild. Steps 1 and 2 are tool-neutral. The rest (Steps 3 to 5) is about setting the current quarter up in OKIAR.

Before you start: who is allowed to export

Three settings decide what you can take out.

  1. The admin export setting. Teamflect's export permissions guide describes an "Allow goal export" toggle and a "Who can export" choice: everyone, managers and admins, or admins only.
  2. Admin Center access. The data export guide says "only users with Admin Center access and relevant permissions can export data" from reports. The reports guide names the Global Administrator, Scoped Administrator and Report Reader roles.
  3. Your plan. Teamflect's pricing page lists CSV and XLSX data export on Essential and above, and API integration on Professional and above. The free Starter plan doesn't list data export.

Then ask a global admin to run the exports below while your plan is active. Annual licenses can't be reduced until the agreement ends, per the pricing page, so check your renewal date too.

Step 1: Work out which Teamflect export you have

Which Teamflect export can you get?

A few yes-or-no questions, based on the Teamflect help articles cited above.

Question 1

Do you see an Export button in Goals, under My Goals or My Team?

The Goals export (Excel)

Teamflect's end-user export guide walks through it. Open Goals, then My Goals, set your filters and click Export. Tick "Include subgoals" and, if you use tasks, "Include related tasks". Teamflect emails you a download link to the Excel file.

Managers get more from the My Team tab: they can group by user and filter by period, owner, goal type (such as Company or Department), labels, and status or progress. The guide says the file reflects only the goals visible in your current view, so clear any filter you don't mean to apply.

The Goals report (XLSX or CSV)

In the Admin Center, open Reports, then the Goals module. The Goal Details tab lists one goal per row. Use Select Columns to add every column. The data export guide then has you open the ⋮ menu, choose Export Data and pick XLSX or CSV. The reports guide says report data refreshes about every 3 to 5 hours, so changes made today may not show yet.

The API

Teamflect's API guide says only global administrators can generate an API key, under Integration & API in the Admin Center. Microsoft's Teamflect connector page lists a Get Goals action that filters by user, labels, search text and dates, plus Get Goal by ID. Neither page says whether past check-ins or comment text come back.

If you have no file

No export? Use whatever Excel downloads people have plus the last quarterly review deck. You can also start over from a template: OKIAR's OKR examples cover 16 teams.

Step 2: Check what your file contains

Teamflect documents more of its export than most tools. The Goal Details report offers these columns: Goal ID, Goal, Goal Owner, Mail, Department, Location, Owner's Manager, Created At, Start Date, Due Date, Description, Goal Type, Measure Type, Goal Labels, Privacy, Visibility, Progress, Last Progress Update At, Initial and Target.

Two gaps stand out. The column list has no parent goal column, only an "Is Subgoal" filter. And the end-user guide says that without the Tasks module, the Goals export holds goal titles, progress, status, labels and owners.

Before you plan the move, check four things:

  1. Count the goals in the file, and compare the total with what the Goals module shows for the same period and filters.
  2. Check that you can tell which goal sits under which. If the report doesn't show it, use the Goals export with "Include subgoals" ticked.
  3. Look for owners who have left the company. The report's Mail and Owner's Manager columns help here.
  4. Look for check-in history and comments. Neither export guide says they're included, so assume they aren't until you see them.
File check

Is your export ready to import?

Tick the four checks as you do them and enter your file size.

Enter your file size to check it against the upload limit.

  • Still to do: Goal counts match the Goals module for the same period and filters
  • Still to do: I can tell which goal sits under which (subgoals included)
  • Still to do: Owners no longer at the company are flagged
  • Still to do: I looked for check-in history and comments (and know whether they’re there)

Moving to a tool other than OKIAR

Get a trial import of your Teamflect Goals export from any vendor you're weighing, and inspect it before you sign. As of October 27, 2026:

  • Tability's AI importer works out the columns of an XLSX or CSV by itself (10 MB limit), though you create users and teams.
  • Perdoo's goal import expects its CSV template or pasted text, below 5 MB and 10,000 rows, and drops updates, comments and check-ins.
  • Atlassian Goals offers no file import; the bulk upload request is still open.

Compare eight options, imports included, on our Teamflect alternatives page.

Step 3: Rebuild your current quarter in OKIAR

Teamflect's Goals export is an Excel file, and OKIAR reads Excel workbooks with several sheets. OKIAR's sign-up guide sets a 5 MB limit and also lists CSV, PDF, Word, text and Markdown. Owners, teams and parent links come through. Import when you sign up or later, then edit the draft plan's objectives, key results, starting values and targets until it's right, and accept.

Rebuild the period that's running now; keep the Teamflect exports for everything earlier.

  1. Make a free account; the beta takes no card and has no seat cap. Microsoft sign-in works too, added in OKIAR's June 2026 release notes.
  2. Export Goals for the current period with subgoals included, and upload it. Narrow the period and export again if the file is over 5 MB. Check each proposed objective and key result, then accept.
  3. Compare imported teams to your Teamflect departments, and invite people as Admin, Manager, Contributor or Viewer.
  4. Confirm the department goals sit under the right company goals, the way Teamflect had them.
  5. Check start, current, target and unit on each key result against the Initial and Target columns.
  6. Shift ongoing metrics such as revenue or churn into KPIs.
  7. Link Slack.
  8. Review objective, team and person views alongside the Excel file and correct mismatched owners or links.

Statuses in OKIAR

Teamflect's Goals report sorts goals into On Track, At Risk, Off Track or No Status. You can drop those: OKIAR calculates status from pacing, which its objective guide describes as progress measured against the progress due by this point in the quarter. A hand override is available.

In OKIAR, a pacing ratio at or above 0.7 means On track. From 0.4 to 0.69 is Behind. Under 0.4 is At risk. The other three statuses, Not started, Closed and Abandoned, are set by a person.

Owners can rate confidence from 0 to 10 when they check in.

Step 4: Replace your Teamflect integrations

Teamflect's help center says admins can update goals from Excel, Power BI, Power Automate and the API. Its pricing page lists Teams and Outlook. None of those connections come with your file.

Teamflect APIMCP for AI assistants, bound by role and team access

Progress in OKIAR is entered by owners. AI assistants such as Claude can file check-ins or update current values through OKIAR's MCP, which has 14 tools, which can create objectives, key results and KPIs. Tell owners where and how they'll update before the first check-in. Companies without Slack can use Telegram.

Step 5: Run the first check-in

Hold a check-in in week one.

  • Every team gets a check-in day and a template.
  • Owners share progress, confidence and blockers in text or voice.
  • The team reads the weekly summary at its next meeting.
  • Insights, after a few weeks, shows pacing, confidence and the blockers that keep returning.
  • Adjust at the mid-quarter review.

Use our weekly check-in template for five prompts.

Frequently asked questions

Can I export my goals from Teamflect to Excel?

Yes, if your admin allows it. Open Goals, then My Goals (or My Team if you're a manager), set your filters, click Export and tick "Include subgoals". Teamflect emails you a link to the Excel file.

Why is the Export button missing?

An admin controls goal export with the "Allow goal export" toggle and the "Who can export" setting. Ask them to turn it on for you, or to run the export from the Admin Center.

Does the export include the goal hierarchy?

The Goals export can include subgoals. The Goal Details report lists no parent goal column, so check the hierarchy in whichever file you use before you rebuild.

Does the export include check-ins and comments?

Teamflect's export guides don't say so. The Goals report counts comments in its Collaboration tab, but we found no documented export of the comment text.

Can OKIAR import my Teamflect file?

Yes. The Teamflect Excel export imports directly if it's 5 MB or less, either at sign-up or later. Owners, teams and parent links carry over, and you check the draft plan before accepting.

What does OKIAR cost?

OKIAR's beta is free: no card, no caps on objectives, key results, KPIs or team members, and no set end date. Beta Okiar is already live today. A Pro plan is coming at a price listed as "TBD/seat/month".
