Engagedly migration: get goals out through the import screen
Facts checked October 27, 2026
The most useful goal file in
Engagedly comes from a screen built for importing. On Engagedly's Import goals page, the "Update Existing Goals" option lets an admin filter goals, select them and click Preview & Export. The file it produces is the same template Engagedly reads back in, so it holds goals in a row-per-goal layout rather than a chart summary.
Engagedly doesn't publish the column list for that file. Open it before you plan anything, and use this guide to decide what each column becomes.
Before you start: check your version and your role
- Know your version. Engagedly's help center splits articles between Indigo (V3), Tangerine (V2) and older V1 accounts. Menu paths differ, so ask your admin which one you're on.
- Get the import role. Admins can give the "Manage goal import for all employees" role, along with "Manage and view goal dashboard for organization", to someone else. That person can then run the export from the import screen.
- Decide on other apps. If you keep Engagedly for reviews, learning or rewards, only goals move. Engagedly's pricing sells goals inside the Performance Suite at $5 to $8 per user a month, with a $7,500 yearly minimum, so ask how dropping goals changes your quote.
Step 1: Pick your Engagedly export
| Export | Path | Holds | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Update Existing Goals | Apps, Goals, My Org, Overview, Overflow menu, Goals Import | Selected goals in template layout | The move itself |
| Goals analytics | Apps, Goals, My Org, Overview, open a chart, Export | Goal reports behind each chart | Checking counts |
| Admin dashboard (Tangerine) | Admin, Goals, Dashboard, Overflow menu, Export | Reports by business unit, department, status, alignment, category and check-in health | V2 accounts |
| Manager dashboard (Tangerine) | Teams, Goals, Dashboard, Export | A manager's direct reports | One team at a time |
| Scheduled reports | Admin report scheduling | Reports sent to an SFTP folder | Repeated pulls |
The import screen export
Go to Apps, Goals. In the left pane, pick My Org from the drop-down, then Overview. Open the Overflow menu at the top right, choose Goals Import, then Update Existing Goals and Export. Use the Filter icon to narrow the set, select the goals, then click Preview & Export and Export.
Leave the file as it is. If you return to Engagedly later, edits go back in through the same screen, and Engagedly warns that wrong or incomplete details make the import fail.
Analytics and dashboards
Engagedly's export reports article says admins export for the whole organization and managers for their direct reports and secondary teams. On the Goals Overview, click any chart, then Export. Tangerine accounts use the admin dashboard export instead. These reports are best used to count goals by status and department, so you can check the main file against them.
Admins can also schedule reports to an SFTP folder, which helps if you plan to run both tools for a while.
Step 2: Check the Engagedly file
Before you plan the move, run these four checks:
- The number of goals matches the Goals Overview for the same filters.
- Every goal and key result has an owner email.
- Aligned goals point to a parent that is also in the file.
- Archived and locked goals are flagged or removed.
Watch for key results that were converted into goals. Engagedly lets employees align a converted goal as a contributor to its parent, and removing it as a contributor drops its progress from the parent. Decide whether each one should be an objective or go back to being a key result.

Step 3: Rebuild your Engagedly goals in OKIAR
Upload the file to OKIAR's goal import. It reads spreadsheets, multi-sheet Excel included, plus CSV, PDF, Word, text, Markdown, up to 5 MB, and helps map people, teams and parent links for you to review. You can use it at sign-up or any time after.
- Sign up free at okiar.app/signup.
- Import the goals for the period you're in.
- Review the draft tree. Contributing goals become child objectives.
- Set teams from business units and departments.
- Add co-owners only where needed. Extra owners are optional.
- Copy weights. Engagedly lets owners manage key result weights on goals measured as a percentage, and OKIAR supports weighted key results too.
- Match the period. OKIAR supports fiscal-quarter labels.

Status after the move
OKIAR sets status from pacing. According to its objective docs, progress at 0.7 or more of what's expected by today shows On track, 0.4 to 0.69 shows Behind, and under 0.4 shows At risk. Owners can still set Not started, Closed or Abandoned. Each check-in also takes a confidence score from 0 to 10.
Step 4: Move the integrations
Engagedly's Slack integration and Microsoft Teams integration both need Engagedly support to switch them on. In either app, people can check in on goals, add comments or key results and mark a goal as contributing.
| Engagedly | OKIAR |
|---|---|
| Slack check-ins and nudges | Slack reminders and channel posts |
| Teams check-ins and nudges | No Teams app; move those users to Slack or Telegram |
| Marissa AI | OKIAR's MCP server creates objectives, key results and KPIs, and updates progress and check-ins |
Step 5: Hold the first check-in
Choose a day and keep it each week. In the first round, every owner records a value, a confidence score and anything blocking them. Compare top-level progress with Engagedly's Goals Overview. Once they match, keep the export with your records and switch off Engagedly goal nudges.
