Asana Goals alternatives for teams that want OKRs without the Advanced plan
Facts checked October 28, 2026
Asana is a task and project tool first. Goals sit on top of the work: a company goal links to team goals, those link to projects and portfolios, and progress can roll up from the tasks underneath. For a team that already plans everything in Asana, that link is the whole point.
The trouble starts when someone asks for proper OKRs. This page compares six options checked on October 28, 2026: two work management suites that also track goals, two OKR tools with Asana in their integration lists, Atlassian's free goals app, and OKIAR. It ends with what Asana lets you export.
Why teams look past Asana Goals
Goals start on Advanced. Asana's pricing page lists goals at company, team and individual level, the strategy map, automatic progress and weighted goals from the Advanced plan, at $24.99 per user per month billed annually or $30.49 billed monthly. Starter, at $10.99, doesn't include them.
Objectives and key results are an Enterprise feature. The same table puts goal types, meaning objectives and key results, and goal templates on Enterprise and Enterprise+, which are sold through sales. On Advanced you get goals and subgoals, not an OKR structure with its own labels.
Every planner pays for a full seat. Asana sells seats in steps: one at a time up to 5, then in fives to 30 and in tens to 100. A 12-person leadership group on Advanced buys 15 seats. The pricing FAQ also says Asana doesn't offer refunds.
The OKR people aren't always the task people. Sales leaders and finance often only need to update a number once a week. In Asana they still need a paid seat with access to the goal.
What Asana Goals does well
Asana's goal model is tied closely to delivery. Progress can come from subgoals, projects or tasks, and the Asana API exposes each goal's owner, time period, metric with start, current and target values, parent goals and supporting relationships. Status updates on goals can post to Slack through the Slack + Asana app, and Advanced adds a two-way Jira Cloud sync. If most of your goals measure work that already lives in Asana projects, it's hard to beat.

Six Asana Goals alternatives
monday.com
monday.com is the closest swap if you want a different work tool rather than a separate goal app. It doesn't sell a goals module. Instead, its help center describes running OKRs on a board: groups become objectives, items become key results and subitems hold initiatives, with People, Status, Timeline and formula columns doing the scoring. A Goal widget on a dashboard tracks the sum or average of a numbers column against a target.
monday's pricing is lower per seat than Asana Advanced: Basic $9, Standard $12 and Pro $19 per seat a month on annual billing, with plans starting at 3 seats and an 18% saving for yearly payment. There's a free plan for up to 2 seats. Slack and Microsoft Teams apps post board updates. You build the OKR structure yourself, so agree on the columns before the quarter starts.
ClickUp
ClickUp is the cheapest way to keep goals and tasks in one app. Goals are on every plan, with targets that can be a number, true or false, a currency amount or a set of tasks, so a key result can track tasks the way Asana's automatic progress does. The Free Forever plan allows 100 Goal uses; Unlimited and above remove the cap. Goal Folders, for grouping goals by team or quarter, need Business.
On ClickUp's pricing page, Unlimited is $7 per user a month billed yearly or $10 monthly, and Business is $12 or $19. That's well under Asana's Advanced price for a comparable setup. The Teams integration unfurls links and sends task notifications to channels. Moving from Asana means moving projects too, which is a bigger job than switching goal tools.
Atlassian Goals
Atlassian Goals makes sense when engineering already lives in Jira and the Asana seats were mainly for leadership. Goals come at no additional cost with any Atlassian app; an admin grants access. Updates and reminders reach Slack and Teams through the Atlassian Home app.
The weak spot is getting goals in. There's no bulk upload: ATLAS-141, the open request for one, lists no workaround, and Atlassian's only importer is built for Microsoft Viva Goals. An Asana goals CSV gets typed in by hand. Our Atlassian Goals alternatives page covers the other side.
Tability
Tability suits a team that wants to keep tasks in Asana and run OKRs somewhere built for weekly check-ins. Tability's pricing lists Basic at $6 per user a month billed yearly ($7 monthly) and Premium at $10 ($12). There are no user minimums and a 14-day trial. Slack, Teams and Jira are on the Basic card, though the FAQ says other integrations need Premium.
For the move, Tability's AI importer reads XLSX or CSV files up to 10 MB with no template, and finds plans, objectives, key results and initiatives. It never creates users or teams, so invite people first. Our Tability alternatives page compares it further.
Perdoo
Perdoo is the OKR tool on this list that names Asana as an integration. Perdoo's pricing lists Premium at €8.00 per user per month under 25 users, falling to €6.40 at 100, and Supreme at €10.00 falling to €8.00. Asana, Jira and HubSpot connections sit on Supreme. Up to 5 users it's free, Slack and Teams included, which is enough for a leadership team to try it.
Perdoo's goal import takes its own CSV template under 5 MB and 10,000 rows, and only current goals come over. Expect to copy Asana's columns into Perdoo's layout by hand. More in our Perdoo alternatives.
OKIAR
OKIAR is for the case where goals and tasks don't need to live in the same tool. It tracks objectives, key results and KPIs with check-ins in Slack and Telegram, and the beta is free with no credit card and no cap on team members, so the people who only update a number weekly don't need an Asana seat. The beta has no set end date, and Okiar is already live today.
It won't do what Asana does. There are no tasks or projects, no Microsoft Teams app and no Jira integration, and progress doesn't roll up from task completion. Owners enter values at check-in. The Asana goals CSV can go straight into OKIAR's goal import, which reads spreadsheet, CSV and other files up to 5 MB and helps map people, teams and parent links for you to review. Key results can be weighted, periods can be custom, and you run the move yourself.
When Asana is still the better buy
Stay with Asana if most goals are measured by project and task completion that already happens there, because automatic progress is the feature the others copy least well. Stay if you're on Enterprise already and use goal types and templates. And stay if your engineers rely on the Jira Cloud sync to keep goals current: of the tools here, OKIAR has no Jira integration and Perdoo keeps it for Supreme.
What you can export from Asana Goals
Asana's goal sharing and privacy article describes a CSV export of Company goals, Team goals or My goals from the Goals sidebar; Asana emails you the file. In 2025 the option moved to the view tab, according to an Asana forum announcement. A PDF export with subgoals and status updates is limited to Enterprise and Enterprise+. For metric values and parent links in full, the API is the most complete source. Our Asana Goals migration guide walks through each route.

Advanced, at $24.99 per user per month billed annually. Goal types for objectives and key results, and goal templates, are on Enterprise and Enterprise+.

Can I export my Asana goals to a spreadsheet?
